ALBAWABA - A bakery employee in the Akkapı area of Adana's Seyhan district seriously hurt himself when he tried to end his life by dousing himself in boiling molasses. The event happened early in the morning, and the security cameras of the bakery recorded everything.
A pot of boiling molasses was raised by the worker, who was producing simit (Turkish bagel), and he purposefully poured it over his head and body. Astonished by the event, his coworkers stepped in right away and dialed 911.
He was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel and placed in critical care. He is still in critical condition.
According to sources, the employee had been struggling with serious psychiatric problems and large indebtedness. He is thought to have committed this awful crime as a result of these difficulties.
