Death of Egyptian national football team player Ahmed Refaat

ALBAWABA - Ahmed Refaat was a well-known player for Modern Sport Club and the Egyptian national football team. His untimely death early this Saturday shocked the Egyptian football fraternity. After fighting a serious health issue that started some months ago, Ahmed Refaat passed away.

The Egyptian Football Clubs Association released a statement expressing their profound sadness and said, "The Egyptian Professional Football Clubs Association mourns Ahmed Refaat, player of Modern Sport Club."

The sad news was announced by Modern Sport Club in an official statement that highlighted Ahmed Refaat's midfield role and his services to the club and the national team.

According to Modern Sport Club's statement:

After experiencing a health crisis on March 11, 2024, which resulted in his hospitalization and eventual death, Ahmed Refaat's condition had rapidly deteriorated.

The team sent its deepest sympathies to the family of Ahmed Refaat as well as the larger Egyptian football community, asking for God's comfort and fortitude at this trying time.
