ALBAWABA - Palestinian experts report that Israel, in what they call the "third phase" of its operations, aims to kill more Palestinians in Gaza with fewer attacks.

In recent weeks, Gaza has witnessed new Israeli military assaults, distinct from the ground attacks that began on October 27. The Israeli military has conducted sudden air, land, and sea attacks without warning, targeting areas like the Nuseirat Refugee Camp and Shuja'iyya neighborhood.

The Israeli army claims these operations aim to achieve specific objectives, such as freeing prisoners or dismantling Hamas’s military infrastructure. While the military hasn't officially announced this "third phase," analysts indicate a shift in tactics towards more targeted bombings based on intelligence.

Local sources suggest the army plans to focus on buffer zones along the Netzarim and Philadelphia axes, reducing extensive bombardments. Reports indicate preparations for expanding the Netzarim axis from 2 to 4 kilometers.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant mentioned a shift from intense combat to other operations. On June 8, a surprise attack on Nuseirat Refugee Camp killed 274 Palestinians and injured over 698, while rescuing four Israeli prisoners.

Recent attacks in Shuja'iyya resulted in numerous Palestinian casualties. The Israeli military claims these operations are based on intelligence aimed at dismantling Hamas’s infrastructure.

Media Strategy

Mohammed predicts the Israeli military will withdraw from attacked areas, either leaving Gaza or retreating to assembly points, aiming to achieve tactical objectives like rescuing prisoners and detaining resistance leaders. He doubts Israel's ability to achieve its objectives in this phase, citing past failures.

Palestinian analyst Ibrahim al-Madhun suggests the third phase aims to expand killings and assassinations without ground assaults, illustrating systematic warfare. He calls it a media slogan, noting the occupiers have yet to transition phases and might use "phases" to continue attacks while evading international pressure to stop.
