ALBAWABA - Al Jazeera's exclusive film of Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades fighting the Israeli Defense Forces has gone viral.
A startling photo of a barefoot fighter confronting heavily armed Israeli forces in eastern Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, has garnered viral attention. The "barefoot in the face of soldiers equipped with the latest gear" scenario has moved many viewers. Al Jazeera reported that Al-Qassam militants damaged many Israeli tanks and bulldozers with "Yassin 105" anti-armor rounds. They fled into an assault tunnel after engaging an Israeli force.
The film has gone viral on Arab and worldwide social media. Palestinian activists praised the warriors' courage. "Oh youth of Deir al-Balah, I kiss your pure feet," tweeted journalist Wael Dahdouh.
One user tweeted, "From Deir al-Balah, the Yassin roars and destroys Israeli vehicles," praising the Al-Qassam fighter's bravery.
Many social media users were inspired by the warrior sprinting barefoot amid thorns with his nation's glory.
Others noted the surprising obstacle encountered by advanced American and Israeli equipment when faced with warriors who don't wear shoes, complimenting the resistance fighters' fortitude against an opponent with the most modern weapons.
Al Jazeera, quoting the Israeli occupation army, said that the "98th" Division has begun a military offensive east of Bureij and Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. This operation coincides with the "162nd" and "99th" Divisions' southern and central Strip operations.
