ALBAWABA - Famous 'Anti-ageing biohacker' and influencer Bryan Johnson recently made headlines after revealing that he has an autoimmune disease called autoimmune gastritis (AIG).

Gastritis is an autoimmune disease that attacks the stomach lining, typically caused among individuals who frequently use NSAID painkillers or drink excessive amounts of alcohol. However, the most common cause is an infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori).

Brayn Johnson took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, " have an autoimmune disease. My stomach is eating itself." He added, "2–5% of people have this, too. Likely more, because it hides."

He then opened up about his early life, outlining difficulties including food choices, stress and depression.

He stated further, "As a kid, I ate sugar cereal, drank sugary soda, and gobbled down fast food. I had a few healthy years in my early 20s but then became a young father of three and began building a business. Juggling that stress and grind, I let my health slip and gained 40 lbs. Within a few years I’d fallen into a deep, chronic depression."

Johnson shared that despite no cure, he's going to try solving it and will share the journey with his fans.

The 'Anti-ageing' influencer was diagnosed with the autoimmune diseases after undergoing a bi-directional endoscopy and a series of blood tests, which revealed anti-parietal cell antibodies. However, Johnson said that the colonoscopy was clear.

Brayn Johnson has garnered millions of followers across several platforms where he shares content about his 'anti-ageing' journey, the negatives of consuming fast food, and tips for a healthier lifestyle.
