ALBAWABA - It's Helldivers 2 all over again for PC players. Reports recently flooded social media claiming that Sony has been blocking the PC release of Marvel Tokon in 132 countries, citing region-locking as the main culprit.

Many claim that the upcoming fighting game has been blocked in many countries due to Sony's PSN account requirements. Players who wanted to preorder Marvel Tokon noticed the block after visiting Valve's Steam storefront.

Since the Helldivers 2 controversy, Sony has launched multiple titles on PC. However, it seems the gaming giant is bringing back the unpopular change for Tokon ahead of its Aug. 2, 2026 release. According to Vice, Sony has yet to respond to its questionable move.

Sony ditches physical disc support and goes all digital

Sony also received backlash recently after announcing it's ditching physical disc support and going all digital for its PS5 and PS6 platforms, starting in 2028. The move raised anti-consumer concerns due to the loss of physical game ownership, which prevents consumers from many features, including reselling their games, sharing them with friends, and owning them forever.

An internet user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "This is a horrible business decision. Why would you want o give your customers less choices?"

Another added, "And this is the company we are supposed to trust with our all-digital future? Yeah, no thanks."
