ALBAWABA - The Houthis have showcased footage of the downing of an American drone of the "MQ9" model during what they described as "hostile" missions in the airspace of Saada Governorate.

The video, released by the Houthi "war media," showed the moment a missile launched by Houthi forces hit and destroyed the American drone, causing it to crash to the ground.

An American military official stated that the United States has lost three MQ-9 Reaper drones near Yemen since last November. The latest drone crashed near the Yemeni coast on Friday, and investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

Earlier, the Houthis had downed two other drones, one in November and the other in February. Each drone of this type is valued at around 30 million dollars.

These drones were participating in Operation "Guardian of Prosperity," launched by the US Armed Forces in collaboration with allies in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab area following the Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea "in solidarity with the Palestinians" in Gaza since last November.

Additionally, Ansar Allah (the Houthis) announced on Friday night that they targeted a British oil tanker with several missiles, causing direct hits. They also succeeded in downing an advanced American drone.
