Turkish Ambassador Ali Vural Oktem has said his country wants to work together with Pakistan in the process of reconstructing war-stricken Afghanistan. He also stated that Turkey wants to enhance ties with Pakistan in the field of communications and railways, according to the Pakistani daily Dawn.
In a meeting with Lieutenant-General (Retired) Javed Ashraf Qazi, the federal Minister for communications and railways, Oktem said Pakistan had to play a leading role for the rebuilding of Afghanistan and that the Turkish companies want to work jointly with Pakistan.
Qazi, however, called on the world to extend full cooperation for the reconstruction of war-torn Afghanistan. He said the friendly relationship between Pakistan and Turkey had enriched with time, “Both are cooperating in economic sector from the platform of ECO,” he said adding “this cooperation will be promoted in the future.”
Qazi stated Pakistan would fully cooperate with Turkey for the reconstruction of neighboring Afghanistan as the Turkish construction companies were already engaged in various projects throughout the country. (Albawaba.com)
