ALBAWABA - A flight attendant from Haarlem was taken to the hospital with mild symptoms after a Hantavirus infection, according to Dutch broadcaster RTL.

According to RTL, the airline crew member contacted in Johannesburg, South Africa, with the 69-year-old Dutch woman who died from the virus a day later.

Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced that he is hosting a briefing on the Hantavirus today. On X, he wrote, "I am hosting a media briefing on Hantavirus today at 15:00h CEST. You can join and watch via
@WHO and my social media channels across X, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube."

On the other hand, the Argentine health ministry mentioned that Dutch Hantavirus victims visited Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina before the cruise.

A virus outbreak caused panic aboard a Netherlands-based cruise ship, which left at least three people dead.

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced Sunday that three people have died of a suspected outbreak of the Hantavirus, which is a rodent-borne virus that can cause severe and potentially fatal respiratory illness.

Symptoms of Hantavirus include fever, fatigue, chills, and muscle aches as primary symptoms, in addition to headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and sometimes diarrhea. Coughing and shortness of breath may appear in later stages.
