ALBAWABA - Israel continues to break the ceasefire deal agreed with the Hamas group. In a Wednesday attack, the son of Hamas leader in Gaza died of wounds sustained in an Israeli strike on the strip.
Anadolu Agency reported Thursday that Azzam al-Hayya, who is the son of Khalil al-Hayya, died after being injured in a strike by the Israeli army. The attack took place in Daraj neighbourhood on Wednesday and wounded at least nine other Palestinians, according to medics.
Khalil al-Hayya was the head of Hamas' political bureau and the group's top negotiator in indirect talks with Israel.
Two other attacks on the same day killed four people, including a senior colonel in Gaza's police force. Al-Hayya told Al Jazeera his son, Azzam, was "seriously wounded".
"I say to the occupation and to all who hear us, we are a people with a just cause. Neither the killing of our sons nor the martyrdom of our leaders will intimidate us," al-Hayya told Al Jazeera.
