A bomb explosion has killed at least three people in the Afghan capital, the latest attack as government negotiators are in Qatar to resume peace talks with the Taliban.
Zia Wadan, a spokesman for Afghanistan’s Public Protection Force was killed along with two of his colleagues when a roadside bomb targeted their vehicle in Kabul on Sunday, according to the Interior Ministry.
Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said in a press conference that the vehicle carrying Wadan, a former journalist, was hit in the morning rush-hour traffic in an eastern part of the capital.

He added that a fourth person was wounded in the blast that was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
The killing of Wadan is the latest in a string of targeted killings that Afghan officials have blamed on Taliban militants.

High-profile public figures including journalists, politicians and rights activists have been targeted by militants.
Sunday’s attack comes as Afghan negotiators resumed negotiations with the Taliban aimed at finding an end to years of bloodshed in the country since the 2001 US invasion.
