The Moroccan national team was the better side, dominating possession and creating the most dangerous chances throughout the game. They fully deserved the win and their spot in the Round of 16.

The Netherlands opened the scoring through Cody Gakpo in the 72nd minute. Everyone thought the game was over until Morocco's equalizer came through Issa Diop in the 91st minute.
With the score tied, the two teams went to extra time. Morocco pushed hard and tried to find a winning goal to avoid a penalty shootout, but they couldn't.
In the penalty shootout, goalkeeper Yassine Bounou shined by saving the final spot-kick from Summerville. Ismael Saibari then stepped up and successfully converted his penalty, sending his team to the Round of 16 to face Canada.
