ALBAWABA - A backpack explosion rocked Monaco, leaving three Ukrainians injured, including businessman and investor Vadym Iermolaiev.
According to Euronews, a couple and a teenager were severely injured in the attack when an explosion sounded at around 9 p.m. in a residential building on Rue Révérend-Père-Louis-Frolla near the French border. CCTV footage reportedly captured the suspect fleeing to France, local authorities said. Monaco's Prince Albert II condemned the incident, describing it as a "heinous crime" and "a shock to the entire Monegasque community."
Monaco's Minister of State Christophe Mirmand also said that the teenager was likely related to the couple. Mirmand said that the explosive device contained bolts and buckshot.
Reports indicate that the suspect left a bag or package in the building's lobby before fleeing, which later detonated, causing a massive explosion. France's Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez revealed that police launched an investigation "to find the perpetrator, who has fled."
