Syrian police arrest security officer for killing 4 in Sweida

ALBAWABA - Four people were killed, and another was seriously injured in a shooting attack in the al-Matouna area of ​​the Sweida countryside in Syria, local media confirmed.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, citing the head of internal security in the province, Brigadier General Hussam al-Tahhan, as saying that initial investigations, in cooperation with a survivor of the attack, pointed to a member of the Internal Security Directorate in the area as a suspect. 

He was immediately arrested and referred for investigation to complete the necessary legal procedures.

The Internal Security Command offered its condolences to the families of the victims, emphasizing that any transgression against citizens is categorically rejected and that it will not tolerate any act that threatens the security and safety of residents. 

In addition, It stressed its full commitment to protecting civilians and holding accountable anyone proven to be involved, regardless of their affiliation.

The Command called on the people of the province to exercise restraint, patience, and confidence in the measures being taken, affirming that justice will take its course to ensure that such tragic incidents are not repeated and that the perpetrators, regardless of their affiliation, are held accountable.
