ALBAWABA - An out-of-service military airport in northwest Syria's city of Idlib was hit by an unidentified plane on Tuesday, a security source told AFP.

According to AFP, the airport hosts forces from the country's defence ministry.

"Early on Tuesday morning, an unknown aircraft bombed the Abu Duhur military airport in Idlib province," the source told the news agency.

No party has claimed the attack on the Syrian airport.

The airport, which has been out of service since 2012, is guarded by Syrian Ministry of Defense forces, according to the source.
