The missile assault came shortly after the US deployed a THAAD missile defense system to Israel, amidst growing concerns of a regional escalation involving Iran.

The tensions spiked following an October 1st hypersonic missile strike by Iran on Israeli military bases, which caused significant damage.

This strike was in retaliation for the assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah Secretary General Hasan Nasrallah.

In a related incident, Israeli airstrikes targeted areas near Jarmash and Qalad al-Sabaa along the Lebanese-Syrian border in the eastern Bekaa region, further escalating the situation across multiple fronts in the region.
