ALBAWABA - Ferrari’s first ever electric vehicle called ‘Luce’ sells a special edition ‘Chassis 0’ version for $40 million at an auction.
The auction taking place in Monterey, California, had a “tailor made” 2026 Ferrari Luce on auction, bearing the ‘Chassis 0’ designation – meaning it’s the first production chassis of Ferrari’s new model.
The $40 million will be going to educational initiatives through the Ferrari charity foundation with buyer’s premium being waived for the sale.
The special edition’s price tag is not just for a label as the car was developed into a unique iteration through Ferrari’s Tailor Made personalization program which allows the development of features and details specifically for this vehicle.
Among the details is its Madreperla Semi-Gloss paint finish which produces iridescent reflections that shift from green to violet while the interior is Perla-colored Le Mans metallic leather made from specially selected Swiss hides - highlighting the uniqueness of the car.
The winner of the bid will not get to drive the car immediately, instead it will be taken back to Ferrari’s headquarters in Italy with its delivery to the winner scheduled to be in the first quarter of 2027.
