ALBAWABA- In a major escalation, an Israeli airstrike in Beirut has killed Ibrahim Qubaisi, a senior Hezbollah commander and a prominent member of the group's missile unit.

Two Lebanese security sources confirmed to Reuters that the Israeli military targeted Qubaisi in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Israeli Army Radio also reported that the strike, carried out by F-35 aircraft, specifically aimed at Qubaisi, underscoring his strategic importance within Hezbollah's missile operations.

The raid left six dead and 15 wounded in the Ghobeiry area, with video footage circulating that shows widespread destruction as rescue teams search for survivors among the rubble.

In addition to Beirut, Israeli forces launched airstrikes on Tamnin, Nabi Sheet, Nabatieh, and southern Jarnaya, intensifying their military campaign across southern Lebanon.
