ALBAWABA - Following the steep escalation between Hezbollah and Israel, the Lebanese group launched dozens of missiles toward Israeli Army airbases in addition to an explosives factory earlier on Tuesday morning.

Earlier the Israeli military announced targeting Hezbollah launchers which the latter used in the attack aimed at the Megiddo Airfield, located near the city of Afula.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for six strikes on Israeli air bases and an explosives plant early Tuesday morning. Israel claimed it intercepted the majority of the rockets, some of which fell in open areas.

According to the Times of Israel, two rockets fired from Lebanon at the northern city of Nahariya fell into the sea.

The latest bombardment occurred after Hezbollah claimed six separate strikes on Israeli airbases, including three missile attacks on the Megiddo Airfield and one on the Ramat David Airbase.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced that the government promptly declared a state of emergency, which would last for one week. This escalation follows a targeted Israeli attack that killed  Ali Karaki, Hezbollah's southern front commander, in the southern suburb of Beirut.

The Israeli Army and Home Front Command reported sirens ringing over the northern Golan Heights, Central Galilee, and hundreds of other places in northern Israel, signaling a high alert level.

The airstrike has significantly escalated relations, and both Israel and Hezbollah are prepared for more events.
