ALBAWAB - It was recently discovered that Indian law enforcement officials had carried out a major crackdown on a human trafficking network that was providing "slave soldiers" to the Russian army.
The multi-city operation yielded the arrest of many persons who were involved in the trafficking of Indian residents to fight for Russia in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
As part of this illegal operation, which involved promising young men attractive job possibilities in exchange for forcing them to take part in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, at least 35 victims were identified. As part of their investigation into this global criminal organization, the Indian authorities carried out a number of searches in seven locations, including the nation's capital, New Delhi.
The operation's scope was further highlighted by reports that significant sums of money, computer equipment, electronic evidence, and damning documents were taken during these searches.
The Indian government has responded to these events by advising its people to stay out of the Russia-Ukraine war and by pleading with Russian authorities to release Indian nationals who have been entangled in this trafficking scheme as soon as possible.
The Ministry of External Affairs has reaffirmed its resolve to engage in diplomatic negotiations with the Russian government to resolve this matter in order to secure the safe return of Indian nationals and to prevent such horrible acts in the future.
