ALBAWABA - At least 19 people were killed in the deadly Nepalese Gen Z protests, which erupted in the face of the government's corruption and social media ban, BBC reported.
Thousands who call themselves "Generation Z" (Gen Z) demonstrated near the parliament building in Kathmandu against the decision to ban platforms including Facebook, X and YouTube, in addition to showing dissatisfaction with the Nepalese government.
The police, in return, used water cannons, batons and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.
According to several media outlets, more than 340 people have been injured across the country in the violent clashes between people and police.
Nepal's government blocked on Friday 26 unregistered platforms, including Facebook, YouTube and X (formerly Twitter), triggering public anger.
