ALBAWABA - After the Israeli forces launched a brutal military operation on Jabalia, Gaza's Civil Defence Services announced ceasing operations in the northern parts of the enclave following the arrest of five personnel and the targeting of three others.
In a statement Wednesday, civil defence services said that its only fire engine in the region was destroyed, describing the situation as catastrophic.
"Our operations have completely ceased in North Gaza province, and the situation has become catastrophic. Residents in the area are now without essential humanitarian services," the statement reads.
Earlier, the Civil Defense reported that Israeli drones fitted with speakers had ordered its troops in the Beit Lahia neighborhood to relocate to a specific spot, which Palestinians say has been converted into a military zone where men from displaced families are being held hostage and tortured.
The report further stated that Israeli military vehicles "targeted our only fire truck in northern Gaza with shells, setting it ablaze".
It further confirmed that it had lost contact with "three of its personnel who were hit by an Israeli drone earlier today in the Beit Lahia area. Their fate remains unknown".
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 42,792+ people, with more than 100,412+ injuries.
Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
