ALBAWABA-Nine people were killed and 14 others injured in a car bomb explosion in the Azaz region of northern Syria.

Local sources told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday that an explosive device placed in a car detonated at a road checkpoint in Azaz, an area under opposition control and located opposite Turkey's Kilis province.

According to initial reports, the terrorist attack resulted in the deaths of nine people and injuries to 14 others. 

In response, security forces have increased measures in the area surrounding the explosion site, and the injured have been transported to Azaz Hospital.

Local security forces have begun an investigation at the scene, but no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
