Notably, the Houthis have reduced their attacks in the Red Sea following an Israeli strike on the Hodeidah port on July 20, 2024, which caused significant destruction to oil tanks and infrastructure.

ALBAWABA- Houthis military spokesperson, commander Yahya Saree, announced that the Houthi-run Yemeni Armed Forces have executed three military operations. One operation targeted the ship Contship Ono in the Red Sea, accusing the owning company of violating a ban on entry to Palestinian ports. The other two operations targeted American destroyers.

In his statement, Saree declared, "We carried out a qualitative military operation targeting an American destroyer with ballistic missiles." He emphasized that the Houthi group considers U.S. military movements in the region as hostile.

This marks the second attack on vessels after the Houthis claimed responsibility for targeting a ship off the coast of Yemen last Thursday and downing a U.S. MQ-9 drone in Sa'dah.

The Houthis asserted they shot down the drone while it was conducting hostile activities in Saada Governorate and targeted the Groton ship in the Gulf of Aden due to its company's violation of the ban on entry to Palestinian ports.

Notably, the Houthis have reduced their attacks in the Red Sea following an Israeli strike on the Hodeidah port on July 20, 2024, which caused significant destruction to oil tanks and infrastructure.

This Israeli strike was in response to a Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv on July 19, 2024, which resulted in the deaths of retired Israeli officers and eight others.

In a related update, U.S. Central Command reported that in the past 24 hours, they successfully destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi drone and two Iranian-backed Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen over the Red Sea.

These weapons posed a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as merchant vessels in the region.

U.S. Central Command condemned the Houthis' actions, stating, "This reckless and dangerous behavior by Iranian-backed Houthis continues to threaten regional stability and security."
