British Airways has teamed up with MasterCard to offer great online fares in its economy cabin, World Traveller, to 22 destinations in North America.
Prices start from just Dhs 2,800 for a return journey from the UAE to New York, Washington or to Philadelphia and from Dhs 3,300 customers can fly to Los Angeles or Vancouver.
To book and pay for these special fares, customers have to log on to www.ba.com/flyamerica by 20 November 2005. Travel from the UAE must be completed by 31 May 2006.
“We are delighted to offer our customers the opportunity to purchase special fares to North America by booking through our website, ba.com. Not only are we able to offer our customers great fares, but, by joining with MasterCard we are able to offer the convenience of paying online and the added comfort of online security with MasterCard’s SecureCode.” said Deborah Frampton, British Airways’ Manager for the UAE.
The MasterCard SecureCode programme is designed to provide online customers with the added security of having issuing banks authenticate individual cardholders and qualify their online transactions for protection against "cardholder unauthorized" chargebacks.
“Through our alliance with British Airways, a MasterCard SecureCode merchant, we want to let our customers know that paying for tickets online is a secure method of payment and that the interests of both the retailer and MasterCard customers are safeguarded,” said Thomas Edelmann, Vice President, Strategic Alliances and Business Development, MasterCard International, Middle East & North Africa Region.
Some of the other benefits of online services offered by British Airways include Online Check-in where customers can check-in on ba.com from 24 hours before their flight departure. Currently 95 per cent of airports worldwide offer an online check-in service. British Airways offers the service to its customers from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports. Customers can also enter all the Advance Passenger Information details required by the US immigration via the Manage my booking tool on ba.com either at the time of booking or any time before their flight.
The British Airways World Traveller cabin offers a host of comforts and services that range from personal video screens, with up to 12 channels of continuous entertainment, to dedicated children and family channels offering the latest programmes and blockbuster films and videos.
All flights to and from the Middle East offer special services for Arab customers, which include Arabic speaking cabin crew, halal food, Arabic videos and newspapers.
“Ba.com is fast becoming a popular tool for our customers with more than 25 per cent of customers using the service which represents a 140 per cent increase globally compared to last year,” added Frampton.
British Airways offers daily flights from Abu Dhabi to London and twice daily from Dubai to London with over 50 connecting flights a week to 22 destinations in North America.
