ALBAWABA - Ahead of the November 5 presidential election, U.S. President Joe Biden cast his ballot early Monday morning in Wilmington, Delaware. Despite having already said that he would not be running in this cycle, Biden's participation garnered a lot of media interest.
Biden arrived at the voting station, lined up with local voters, and stopped to talk to those around. As he entered the polling booth, he was also seen helping an elderly lady in a wheelchair. He went to a selected machine to cast his vote after completing the standard identification verification process and electronically signing in.
Biden replied to recent statements made by Republican nominee Donald Trump over the weekend by calling them "deeply embarrassing" in a short statement to reporters that followed.
In addition to governor, House, and Senate seats, this election cycle included presidential and vice-presidential contests. Current Vice President Kamala Harris, standing on the Democratic ticket, and former President Donald Trump, representing the Republican Party, are the front-runners.
Biden called for an end to the continuing bloodshed in the Middle East in a short statement to media outside the voting station after casting his ballot. Additionally, he denounced allegations that North Korean forces were being sent to Russia, calling the move "extremely dangerous."
This year, more and more Americans are using early voting choices before the official election day on November 5.
Biden's comments also included criticism of former President Trump's recent event at Madison Square Garden, when he and other speakers stepped up their anti-immigration rhetoric.
