A fight broke out between Egyptian actress Nadia Al Jundi and the director of her Ramadan drama series "Mishwar Imra'a" (A Woman's Journey) when the actress appeared in a very revealing dress showing most of her body parts. Nadia was to shoot the remaining scenes of her drama on the beach of Al Ain Al Sukhna but once she appeared on the set the director went into a rage over her dress and began shouting demanding that she changes it immediately.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Nadia refused to change her dress stressing that most of the actresses in television dramas are wearing revealing cloths that are nothing compared to hers. The director stressed that he will not begin shooting unless Nadia wears something that is not insulting to viewers during the holy month.
Nadia insisted on keeping her dress on arguing that the drama is aired at a late time and that will not affect anyone, but the entire cast expressed the same view as the director forcing Nadia to submit to the demand and finally change into a more decent dress.
Recently, Nadia hds refused to accept the Egyptian Broadcasting Television’s schedule for the airing of “Mishwar Imra’a” during Ramadan. The actress had written a complaint to the head of the television stressing that the time for airing her drama is unsuitable and will negatively reflect on its success.
Nadia stressed that airing the drama on the second channel and at such an inappropriate time is an insult to her and her career and especially due to the fact that this drama marks her return to the silver screen after a-25 year absence. Nadia demanded that her drama be moved to the first channel and is aired at a time when there is a large number of viewers.
Officials at the broadcasting company have revealed that Nadia’s demand is close to impossible, because meeting the demand would mean creating a new crisis with Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani, whose drama is being aired at the same time Nadia is suggesting. -Albawaba.com
