ALBAWABA - The Israeli military announced that its air force, acting on intelligence guidance, had just attacked a petrochemical plant in Mahshahr, western Iran.

A video was shared on social media showing smoke erupting from the Marun petrochemical plant in Mahshahr, Khuzestan Province, due to the attack.

The Israeli airstrikes on Iran came following Iran's launch of several waves of missiles against Israel in response to the latter's continued attacks on Lebanon.

In addition, a blast was reported at the Karun Petrochemical Plant in Iran’s Khuzestan province, Odaily reported.

A provincial official said the facility was damaged following an Israeli missile strike.

Additionally, Israeli Channel 12 said explosions were reported in the Jerusalem area and the northern Dead Sea.
