According to Al-Fourat newspaper, the Iraqi Minister of Culture, Mufid Jazairi, asserted that the Iraqi Museum will be opened on July 15th though the reconstruction of all halls was not completed yet. The minister added that some of the museum's halls were damaged by the war, in addition, some archeological pieces were stolen.

The minister added that the museum's inauguration will be accompanied by an exhibition of the Namrood tresure, a unique treasure including 197 golden and precious pieces of cultural antiquities that were usually seen by the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and his aids.
