ALBAWABA – TikTok, the Chinese social media platform for creating, sharing, and discovering short videos, remains available on Apple’s App Store in the United States following reassurances from the attorney and the Trump administration.

TikTok and other ByteDance applications are still available on Apple’s App Store in the United States, following recent reassurances from legal authorities and the Trump administration. Notably, Apple will keep TikTok and other ByteDance apps available for approximately 75 more days as part of an extension.

It is important to note that the Trump administration is still working on a deal to create a US version of TikTok, primarily owned by US investors rather than Chinese companies, for security reasons. This decision was extended due to the recent tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.

Notably, TikTok was officially banned in the US on January 19. The decision followed a ruling by the Supreme Court to ban the popular app, citing concerns over potential user data collection and influence operations by China. TikTok is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese internet technology company.

Shortly after, Trump announced a postponement of the decision, and the app became available again in the US for 75 days. Last week, a decision was expected regarding the app's future in the US, but recent tariffs announced by Trump caused further delays for another 75 days.

The US President Donald Trump said: “The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days.”
