ALBAWABA – US President Donald Trump is set to decide on TikTok’s final proposal today, just three days before the deadline given to the Chinese platform's operators in the country.

TikTok’s final proposal in the US

According to sources, US President Donald Trump is set to decide on TikTok’s final proposal today. Notably, the popular Chinese app was given a deadline of April 5th to continue operating in the United States.

TikTok must complete a deal to find a non-Chinese buyer or face a potential ban, a White House official told Reuters. A meeting will take place today in the Oval Office, with US Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in attendance.

It is worth noting that Trump set April 5 as the final deadline for ByteDance to complete a deal to sell TikTok, the social media platform for creating, sharing, and discovering short videos. The platform is currently used by more than 170 million Americans. In order for the app to continue operating in the US, it must be acquired by a non-Chinese firm due to national security concerns, as stated by Trump months earlier.

Several big names have been mentioned in TikTok’s deal, including Oracle, a US-based information technology company, and Blackstone, an American alternative investment management firm.
