Bosphorus Summit Honors Abu-Ghazaleh With a Statue

In a grand celebration, during the 10th Bosphorus Summit, in a first-of-its-kind gesture, Mr. Cengiz Özgencil, president and founder of the International Cooperation Platform (UIP-ICP), the entity organizing the Bosphorus Summit, presented HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh with a wax statue in recognition of his role as the Honorary President of the Summit in the last ten years.

During the honoring ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Summit, Özgencil unveiled the wax statue expressing gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for the increased momentum the Summit gained, and for his uninterrupted support over the last decade under his patronage

“Dr. Talal’s efforts and keenness to personally attend the Summit and deliver the opening keynote speech every year in the past ten years and his continuous support were the main reasons for its success, development and continuity. His creative and innovative ideas and vision, vast knowledge and rich experience made him a role model and an inspiration for all of us to go the extra mile.” Mr. Ozgencil said adding that: “The positive impact of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh was not limited to the Arab region but spread around the world. He managed to maintain an international standing thanks to his smart and real expectations which proved to be true. Therefore, we, at the International Cooperation Platform, are pleased to present the wax statue of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in acknowledgement of his high standing.”

For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his gratitude for the nice gesture from Mr. Özgencil and the participants and highly commended the key role Turkey plays in the region underlining the role of the Bosphorus Summit in the transitional shift towards a New World Oder accentuating the need for the whole world to pay much attention to their role in this ‘New Order’. 

The honoring ceremony included the screening of a documentary prepared by the Summit organizers which sheds light on the main stations in the life, accomplishments and contributions of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh.
