According to Albayan, a member at Basra development council of Basra (southern Iraq), engineer Majid Altamimi declared that a Gulf company got the green light to build the "World Trade Center" near Basra International Airport to be the largest commercial center in the region after Dubai's Burj Al Arab. Basra council also gave its final consent to construct a new refinery with a total cost of US$750 million.
