Real Madrid has taken another significant step in changing the modern football experience. Club president Florentino Perez has officially announced the launch of "Infinite Bernabeu," a new tech project developed in partnership with Apple.
The goal is to bring the magic of the Santiago Bernabeu directly into fans homes using new virtual reality technology, allowing for a stadium-like experience from anywhere in the world.
A Strategic Alliance with Apple
The announcement came during a special documentary created for the Apple Vision Pro, featuring Perez and Apple's Senior Vice President of Services, Eddy Cue.
“We're developing a new virtual-reality experience for the Bernabeu,” Perez stated. “Every fan, no matter where they live, will be able to feel as if they're watching the match from inside the stadium.”
Perez described the collaboration as a key moment for global sports, saying, “This will be a defining moment in the history of sports. Nothing like this has ever been done.”
Inspired by Steve Jobs: Excellence Over Profit
Perez also shared that the project’s philosophy is inspired by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, focusing on innovation and quality instead of just profits.
“Steve Jobs wasn't obsessed with profit; he was obsessed with creating great products,” Perez noted. “When you chase excellence, everything else follows naturally.”
A Vision for One Billion Madridistas
With Real Madrid having nearly one billion fans worldwide, Perez emphasized that the club's aim is to create outstanding experiences for supporters everywhere.
“Our priority is simple: give fans the experience they want,” he said. “Anyone who visits the Bernabeu should feel they are living something unique, and technology allows us to provide that for fans across the globe.”
Perez reflected on the club’s digital growth, echoing one of his well-known statements: “Years ago, I said the Internet was made for Real Madrid and I meant it. It connects our fans and lets them follow us from anywhere in the world. That vision still stands today.”
Opening the Bernabeu to the World
Perez concluded by reaffirming the extensive effort behind the project and the transformative experience it promises.
“Our project is called ‘Infinite Bernabeu.’ It’s something we’ve been building with Apple for many years. It will open the stadium's doors to the entire planet without limits.”
He added, “It will feel exactly the same as being here.”
