Real Madrid began their UEFA Champions League season with a tough 2-1 win against Olympique de Marseille at the Santiago Bernabéu. The victory came from two penalties expertly converted by Kylian Mbappé. 

This not only secured three points but also added a new chapter to the club’s impressive European history.

Madrid on Top of the Penalty Rankings

With these two penalties, Real Madrid has become the team with the most penalties awarded in Champions League history. According to well-known statistician Mister Chip, Los Blancos have now received 63 penalties, moving ahead of Bayern Munich, which has 62.

Barcelona is in third place with 56, followed by Manchester City with 37 and Arsenal with 36. These teams make up the top five clubs in this area.
