Mexico secured a well-deserved 2-0 win over Ecuador today at the Azteca Stadium, in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mexico continued their brilliant form and high-level performances, keeping a clean sheet for the fourth consecutive match in this tournament without conceding a single goal so far.

Match Highlights and Goals

The Mexican team started the game strongly, launching attack after attack against Ecuador, who had no choice but to drop back defensively hoping not to concede.

Despite that, Mexico managed to open the scoring in the 22nd minute through Julian Quinones, after a great pass from Roberto Alvarado. It didn't take long for Mexico to double their lead through Raul Jimenez in the 31st minute.

With this result, Ecuador leaves the tournament after a disappointing performance, while Mexico advance to the Round of 16 to face the winner of the match between England and DR Congo.
