RIM to participate at InfoConnect 2011

Research In Motion (RIM) today announced its participation at the InfoConnect Exhibition which will be held at the Kuwait Fair Grounds between 30 January and 5 February 2011. RIM’s official participation is the first of its kind in Kuwait, as it continues to strengthen its presence across the Kuwaiti market to serve its growing customers’ needs.
Visitors will be able to locate RIM across the three halls at InfoConnect. The main BlackBerry Demonstration Stand in Hall 6 (E6 on the show guide) will be showcasing the company’s latest products and information. Customers will experience the latest in mobility and get a firsthand look at the recently launched BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphones. These latest additions to the BlackBerry smartphone family come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, which retains the familiar and trusted features that distinguish the BlackBerry brand while delivering a fresh, approachable and engaging experience that is powerful and easy to use.
The new operating system integrates a new and rich WebKit-based browser that renders HTML web pages quickly and beautifully for a great browsing experience. The smartphones also support 3G networks around the world, include Wi-Fi and GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging. They come with a 5 MP camera with a full complement of high-end features including continuous auto focus, scene modes, image stabilization, flash and video recording. The new smartphones also provide 512 MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage.
Mohammed Al Mefleh, Director of Product Management at RIM Middle East, will host an exclusive session to share ‘Updates on the latest BlackBerry Product Developments for the Middle East,’ which will be held at the VIP Lounge in Hall 6 on Sunday 30 January.
RIM will provide specially designated areas for its customers between Hall 5 and 6, where youth groups will hold ‘BlackBerry Tips and Tricks Sessions’ four times a day, to show customers how to best utilize their BlackBerry smartphone. InfoConnect visitors will be invited to add the BlackBerry team to their BBM contacts list, to receive daily reminders of sessions, shout-outs of InfoConnect offers, as well as daily giveaway activities.
RIM representatives will be on hand to also assist with any questions customers may have regarding their devices. BlackBerry customers who purchase a new BlackBerry smartphone and postpaid subscription at InfoConnect will receive a voucher to redeem at the BlackBerry Gift Kiosk, where they can claim a wide variety of official accessories that suit their BlackBerry smartphones.
RIM will also be present with its local telecom partners Wataniya Telecom and Zain, key retail partners Alghanim, Eurocom, Mobile 2000, as well as Viva retailers FCC, Hela and i2, offering an exciting range of new promotions and deals. Customers are encouraged to visit all of RIM’s stands across InfoConnect where they will enjoy and experience first-hand the wide range of products, services and surprises offered.
