Norway secured their first 3 points at the 2026 World Cup after a 4-1 win over Iraq at Gillette Stadium in the USA, as part of Group I.

The match was exciting and intense from both sides. However, Norway, who have players with massive speed and physical strength like Haaland, was the better team, especially in taking advantage of the opponent's mistakes.

Match Highlights and Goals

Norway opened the scoring through Erling Haaland in the 29th minute after a low cross from David Moller Wolfe. Ten minutes later, Iraq equalized with an amazing header by Aymen Hussein, assisted by Amir Al-Ammari. But in the 43rd minute, an Iraqi defender made a mistake passing the ball back to his goalkeeper; Haaland intercepted it with great speed and put it in the net.

Iraq tried to attack in the second half hoping to equalize, but Norway ended their hopes when Leo Ostigard scored the third goal in the 76th minute. Just before the final whistle, Aymen Hussein scored an own goal, ending the match with a 4-1 victory for Norway.
