Ramadan evenings come to life at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain

At dusk every evening, guests may break their fast with the delightful Iftar buffet served in the elegant atmosphere of the Arabian tent Al Khayma. Headed by Arabic Chef de Cuisine Marwan Slim, exquisitely prepared traditional hot and cold mezzes, live cooking stations, together with classic salads and desserts, as well as specially created Ramadan juices, are on offer. 

Partnering with Viva this year has transformed Al Khayma; themed for the occasion and the interior design rich and vibrant in colors, the tent is a replica of an Arabian palace of the early 18^th century Ottoman Mamalik era. Its design and elegant fabrics are influenced by the Empire and with Moroccan motif interiors featuring old Arabian glamour in music, art and culture. 

The resplendent setting is complemented with nightly performances by Najma Abdulla, widely known as the “Star of the Eastern Gulf” for her renditions of Umm Kulthum’s classic songs. With a career spanning three decades, she has performed at music festivals and in concert halls across the Arab world. 

Al Khayma is open every evening during Ramadan and Eid. From Sundays to Wednesdays, the Iftar buffet is priced BD16 per person and the Gabgha is BD20 per person. On Thursday to Saturday, Iftar is BD18 per person and the Gabgha is at BD19 per person. Prices are subject to service charge. Operating hours: Iftar from sunset and Ghabga from 9 p.m. 

The popular Eid Brunch returns to the Grand Foyer on September 1, 2011 from noon to 4 p.m. A delectable festive spread awaits, overflowing with Arabic culinary classics and international favourites, with live cooking stations and an extensive dessert buffet of sweet treats. This special brunch is priced BD23, not including service charge and government levy.
