ALBAWABA - The Simpsons has gained notoriety since 2016 for its startling accuracy in forecasting the results of US elections, most notably predicting Donald Trump's victory and ascension to the presidency.

Many social media users rekindled conversations about The Simpsons' prediction of a female president when Joe Biden resigned for the 2024 election and Kamala Harris emerged as the Democratic nominee.

One particular episode from 2000, "Bart to the Future," has Lisa Simpson as the President of the United States, which has led to internet speculation about Harris. After Harris donned a necklace that resembled Lisa's in the show, observers drew attention to parallels between Lisa's fictitious president and Harris's actual candidacy.

In reference to Lisa's attire in the episode, which closely resembles Harris's style—from the suit color to the beads—one critic said that The Simpsons seemed to have "predicted" Harris's triumph.

Social media users who saw The Simpsons as a representation of the "deep state" in America and its impact on government saw this as a sign that Harris's route to the White House was predetermined. Some conjectured that the deep state sought to damage Trump's reputation in order to prevent him from winning reelection.

However, these hypotheses seemed to crumble in the face of Trump's campaign strength once he announced his win on Wednesday, gaining another term, casting doubt on what some viewed as The Simpsons "legend" of predictions.

Other comments emphasized that no one can really foretell the future and pointed out that historical occurrences that coincided with episodes of The Simpsons were probably merely coincidences. They also noted that a lot of the events shown in the program haven't really happened or have gone differently than anticipated.
