ALBAWABA - At a school in Keserwan, Lebanon, a 12-year-old kid sadly died on Friday while attempting the "One Bite" challenge, which became famous on TikTok. Initial accounts state that the youngster choked as a result of the challenge, which entails eating a whole croissant in one mouthful.
Joe Elie Skaff, the pupil, was a sixth-grader at "Children’s Paradise School." The school management expressed their deep sorrow over the event in a statement. They described how Joe choked while eating at the first break, creating an unexpected and sad circumstance.
The boy's life was not saved, even though instructors and school nurses acted quickly to intervene and Civil Defense officials responded quickly. Although Joe was taken to a hospital right away, the medical staff was unable to bring him back to life.
"This tragic loss is beyond comprehension and leaves all of us in deep sorrow and mourning," the school said in an official statement expressing its sympathies. Joe was loved by his classmates and the whole school community because he was a clever and kind boy. Sharing this unfathomable suffering with Joe's family and loved ones breaks our hearts. We are fully supporting them throughout this trying time.
In remembrance of their cherished pupil, the school said that it will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 20 and 21.
Parents and educators are now worried about the risks associated with viral social media issues as a result of the sad event. Following this tragic incident, there are increasing calls to increase public awareness of these tendencies and their possibly lethal effects.
