ALBAWABA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has offered a $5 million prize in exchange for any hostage that is freed from the captivity of Hamas.
Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, together with IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi and ISA Director Ronen Bar visited the Netzarim Corridor in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
In a video during his visit to the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu was spotted wearing a helmet and shield and said: "I want to say to those who are holding our hostages: Whoever dares to harm our hostages will pay the price. We will pursue you and we will find you."
The Israeli prime minister added: "To those who want to leave this entanglement I say: 'Whoever brings us a hostage, will find a safe way out for himself and his family, We will also give $5 million for every hostage.'"
Following the video which was viewed millions of times on X (formerly Twitter), many people hailed his offer saying he makes a "great politician who loves his people," meanwhile, many others described "how desperate" he looked as he wanted the return of hostages.
An X user commented: "What happened to the strong moral army that was sent to bring them back by force?" Another wrote: "I wonder who’s paying that 5 million."
Furthermore, a comment reads: "Why not offer a ceasefire and allow humanitarian aid in! That would surely be accepted and the hostages returned!"
