ALBAWABA - The story of Habiba Shamaa, an Egyptian girl who exposed a kidnap attempt, has been echoing on social media and breaking the hearts of many who heard the terrifying details of the incident.

Habiba Shamaa's story:

Habiba Shamaa, 24, was exposed to a kidnapping attempt after she requested a cab from a very famous app in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

In detail, the Egyptian woman took a ride to meet her friends at about 6:50 p.m. from 5th Settlement, where she lives, during the ride, the girl called her mother, but she wasn't able to hear her daughter due to the loud music sound inside the car.

the mother called Habiba Shamaa again and was surprised after a stranger picked up the phone saying that her daughter threw herself outside of the car. 

According to an eyewitness, who saw the girl and was getting some information about the incident, Shamaa said that she was riding in a car belonging to a smart transportation application, and when the car driver tried to harras her, she jumped out of the car, and she was taken to the hospital.

Authorities arrest Habiba Shamaa's driver:

The Egyptian authorities then arrested the driver and investigated the incident, in which he said that once on the ride with Habiba, he closed the car's windows and sprayed an air perfume and was surprised that the girl jumped outside the car. 

The driver said that he was afraid to stop when the girl jumped and that he fled the scene and canceled the ride.

Habiba Shamaa's health:

According to the family of the Egyptian girl, Habiba Shamaa is in a critical case as she is suffering head injuries, bruises, various fractures in the body, and brain bleeding.

Many on social media are praying for the Egyptian woman to get better soon and emphasizing that women in the Middle East are still facing harsh situations as they now won't feel safe even if they request special rides from famous driving apps. 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called the family of Habiba Shamaa to check on her condition. Her mother thanked the president for calling them and said that he is willing to transfer Habiba for medical treatment abroad if necessary.
