ALBAWABA - The Egyptian police arrested a mother who was planning to take her 8-year-old child's organs to sell them on the dark web, local media reported.
The Egyptian authorities are investigating into a case that happened in Port Said city where a woman was arrested over accusations of drugging her son to extract his organs and sell them on the dark web for money.
The early probe revealed that the Egyptian woman, identified as H. T. M. D., was planning to do the same for another child. According to Egyptian media, the next child was her cousin, a child approximately her son’s age.
Police revealed that the conversations between her and the second accused in the case were that the woman sent pictures of her cousin and they agreed to sell his organs after they complete the operation on her son first.
On Saturday, the Egyptian Port Said Prosecution decided to renew the detention of the woman accused of drugging her child to extract his organs and sell them for 4 days, pending investigations.
The authorities are continuing their investigations, but they said the woman contacted a person who buys organs through social media. He asked her to send naked pictures and videos of her son to him.
He further asked the accused to give her son an extra dose of anesthetic before committing the crime, but the child became severely ill and had to be transferred to Al Suleiman Specialized Hospital in Port Said, where his stomach was washed.
