ALBAWABA - Social media users are questioning whether Ghislaine Maxwell, the partner of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, committed suicide in jail. However, what is the truth behind the viral posts online, and why is it trending on platforms?
A post on X (formerly known as Twitter) read: "Prison cameras went down while Ghislaine Maxwell committed suicide next week."
Before explaining what is going on, it is worth noting that Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year jail term for her role in the sex trafficking ring operated by Jeffrey Epstein, is believed to be the only living person of importance associated with the Epstein case, considering that the American sex offender committed suicide in jail in 2019.
According to the media, Maxwell, 63, said she is willing to testify before Congress regarding the part she played in facilitating sex trafficking of underage girls and reveal Jeffrey Epstein's secrets and client list amid the fuss in the United States after the US Justice Department review said that Epstein had no "client list" and the latest statements made by President Donald Trump.
After she announced her willingness to reveal new details in the Epstein case and his client list, people are now worried that she could "commit suicide" before speaking out, since she is the only living person of importance associated with the case.
Nonetheless, people are afraid that Ghislaine Maxwell could commit suicide just like Epstein and Virginia Giuffre, the woman who accused Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse. Giuffre died by suicide at the age of 41, her family has said.
Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein's case:
Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in 2022, three years after Jeffrey Epstein's suicide in jail, for child sex trafficking charges, and she is currently serving 20 years in prison after being convicted of charges related to a sex trafficking scheme involving 1,000 victims, including underage girls.
Jeffrey Epstein was accused of trafficking underage girls to his private island, named Little Saint James, and forcing them to engage in sexual acts with his friends and business associates.
