ALBAWABA - The United States intensified its airstrikes against Iran on Tuesday night, targeting several areas, including Behbahan and Omidiyeh, as reported by Mehr news agency.

Videos widely shared on social media reportedly showed huge fire erupting at an Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) military base in Behbahan city in Khuzestan province.

Mehr cited a Khuzestan provincial official as saying that U.S. missiles struck areas near the southwestern cities of Behbahan and Omidiyeh.

Additionally, the Iranian news agency further cited the East Azerbaijan Province Crisis Management Department as saying that a military site near the northwestern city of Tabriz was also struck by American forces.

Iran's air defense systems were activated east, northeast and west of the capital, Tehran, to respond to American attacks.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported early Wednesday that it concluded the 11th consecutive evening of strikes against Iran. In a statement, it said, "CENTCOM assets targeted Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz."

The statement also read, "Over the past three months, Iran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels transiting the international waterway vital for regional and global trade. The unwarranted attacks have endangered hundreds of innocent mariners and undermined freedom of navigation."
