Whitney Houston refuses to return to Hawaii to face up to drug
charges because she so desperate to stay out of rehab, according
to a close friend.
America's The Globe magazine claims the singing superstar is
shaken after learning that prosecutors on the Pacific island are
charging her over an alleged marijuana find in one of her bags.
The source says, "Whitney is just freaking out. Whitney told me
'I can't believe this is happening. There is no way I am going to
jail.
"'Bobby still has nightmares from doing his time and going into
rehab wouldn't be any different. I don't need any damn rehab.'"
The pal adds, "of course she can hire the best lawyers money can
buy and try and get off completely, but she knows if she fights and
gets convicted she could spend days in jail.
"Whitney's family is cautiously optimistic and they don't want to
see her in jail. They are urging her to voluntarily check herself
into rehab as a show of good faith before her plea hearing” – WENN.
