ALBAWABA - Politico obtained a sensitive State Department document leak, which disclosed the US aims to play a significant role in Gaza when the Israeli occupation ends. The study focuses on a number of important facets of Washington's approach and its attempts to win support from other countries.

When the fighting ends, the U.S. administration intends to choose a senior civilian adviser to command a force that will be mostly composed of Palestinians in Gaza. This action indicates the Biden administration's intention to play a significant role in guaranteeing the security of the area after the conflict.

But the adviser won't have a base in Gaza. Rather, there are now talks of placing this official in Egypt or Jordan. Given the complexity of the matter, there is ongoing dispute in Washington over the advisor's power.

Washington is aggressively attempting to persuade nations like Egypt, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates to provide resources to a planned peacekeeping mission in Gaza. The United States' larger plan to stabilize the area via international collaboration is reflected in this diplomatic endeavor.

The memo that was released describes a strategy to unseat Hamas, which has been in charge of Gaza since 2007, and give the Palestinian Authority—led by Fatah and now situated in the West Bank—control instead. But considering that Israeli troops have not been able to defeat Hamas in eight months of armed operations, the practicality of this strategy is called into doubt. In addition, the United States is working with Qatar and Egypt to broker ceasefire talks.
