At least 85 percent of traffic accidents in UAE are caused by teenagers driving without licenses, the Gulf News reported Thursday.
Major Sultan Al Jarwan, head of the UAE's Accidents and Investigation Unit at the Traffic and Licensing Department, told the daily "most of the victims who died were younger than 18."
Nineteen teenagers died last year and 171 were severely injured, he said. In the first eight months of this year there were 59 serious accidents involving teenagers. The traffic department has filed 168 cases against youngsters under the age of 18 - Albawaba.com
