UKS, the Middle East’s leading learning solutions enabler, has become an affiliate member of the European Learning Industry Group (ELIG), an open consortium of leading providers in the field of innovative knowledge and learning solutions for the 21st century. It is directed towards all segments of lifelong learning i.e. schools, higher education, corporate learning and continuous professional development and addresses formal and informal learning approaches.

“UKS has constantly strived to be a leader in innovative approaches to learning in the region as well as on the global arena. With its research and development efforts in Europe and its vast experience in real life implementations of innovative learning solutions in the region, UKS positioned itself at the crossroads of both worlds" said Fadi Abdul-Khalek, UKS Chief Executive Officer."With UKS on board, ELIG can bring its leading edge experience to a new part of the world and can take back valuable regional experiences into Europe serving the ultimate objective of having the education industry develop on global scales and transcend beyond geographical boundaries"

UKS will be playing an active role in all ELIG’s international and regional initiatives and activities. Currently, UKS is a member of several ELIG lead consortia and co-sponsored research and development plans. In addition to such participation, UKS and ELIG are working closely to bring to the region the same level of private - public partnership that is shaping the European learning solution space. It is the intention of both organizations to further enhance such partnership among government organizations, industry players and academic and vocational institutions in order to develop medium and long term learning strategies to yield tangible and recognizable outcomes that ultimately serves to benefit all.

"Innovation in learning is at the core of ELIG's mission. This year we have started to extend our reach into the Middle East and were looking for an innovative leader in learning in the region. As a very dynamic and active player in the field of content services, both internationally and locally, UKS fulfilled these criteria optimally. We are therefore delighted to have UKS as the first member from the Gulf Region to join the European Learning Industry Group. Dr. Richard Straub, Secretary General of ELIG
